Recently, we finished my favorite room in our house- the playroom!
Most people think of a playroom as somewhere to store the millions of toys that you get when you have a kid. Since I’m a stay-at-home mom, we spend a majority of our day in the playroom. I wanted it to be a warm and welcoming space that we would enjoy hanging out in (also a place to store all those toys).
I get so many questions on playrooms, so here is how we designed our space and what went into it!
Thinking to the future
We wanted this playroom to grow with our kids. We added items that our child may not be able to use now, but would use in the future. I thought some playroom essentials were a magnetic chalkboard, a Nugget Comfort , kids table, and tv. Although, he’s not able to use all these things yet, I know that down the road he will be able to get a lot of use out of them!
I always picture playrooms to be bright and colorful! Our playroom was a flex room we had in our house. It’s the first thing you see when you walk in our home, so I wanted it to match the rest of our home decor and be easy on the eyes. We went with a Monochrome theme. It’s gender neutral (just incase we add a girl into the mix one day).
Storage is a must-have for a playroom! After all, you need a place to put all those thousands of legos. I purchased a cube set from Target and we use the fabric cubby totes to store toys.
Thanks for touring our playroom!
